Canons Ordination:Bishop Enoch prepares candidates in a one day Retreat.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Okrika, Rt. Rev’d. Dr. Enoch Atuboyedia, JP, convened a Special Retreat for Canons and Archdeacons Designate today.
The retreat, held as part of the spiritual preparation for their upcoming installation and collation, focused on renewal, reflection, and recommitment to God’s service.
In his address, Bishop Atuboyedia reminded the participants that leadership in the Church is a sacred trust that demands humility, discipline, and unwavering devotion to the Gospel.
He emphasized that being called to serve as Canon or Archdeacon is not a promotion to comfort, but a call to greater sacrifice and faithful stewardship. The Bishop
encouraged them to deepen their spiritual lives, uphold unity in the Diocese, and serve as examples of integrity and pastoral excellence.
The retreat featured sessions on spiritual leadership, accountability, and effective ministry, concluding with prayers and consecration for divine strength and wisdom in their new responsibilities.
