Dynamic Rivers Daughters for Sim on a courtesy visit to Executive Chairman, Okrika Local Government Council, Sir. Achese Igwe.


The Executive Chairman, Okrika Local Government Council, Sir. Achese Igwe received in audience the Dynamic Rivers Daughters for Sim, a pan Rivers women organisation in Rivers State.


Speaking during the visit the leader of group, Mrs. Virginia Koko Chinwe praised the Executive Chairman for his numerous developmental strides in Okrika aimed at putting smiles on the faces of Okrikans. According Mrs. Koko Chinwe, the women are particularly happy with the Market women, small scale businesses and artisans empowerment carried out by the council boss, stressing that the gesture in small measure removed a huge burden on the women of Okrika. She said as women advocacy group the Dynamic Rivers Daughters are poised to ensuring that women are integral part of the government and anything that will ensure women are carried along on the scheme of things. Adding that, the Chairman of Okrika Local Government Council has demonstrated total commitment in the welfare of women as he is one of the council Chairman that is having a woman as council vice chairman as well as a woman as council secretary.


Mrs. Virginia Koko Chinwe pleaded with the Chairman to carry more women along and initiate programmes that will engage women and the girl child meaningfully that will empower women to be self reliant.


In his response, the Okrika council boss, Sir. Achese Igwe thanked the women for finding time to visit the council and advocating for women and the girl child. Amaopusenibo Achese Igwe use the medium to intimate the Dynamic Rivers


 Daughters of his desire to ensure women play key roles in the affairs of the government with the empowerment of 1000 women, employment more than 70% women in Okrika Local Government Sanitation Authority, and engaging the girl child in the ongoing FREE JAMB registration process to ensure the upward education of the girl child, and many other relative adventures.


Sir. Achese Igwe said he is optimistic that more women will be carried along in all planned projects and programmes of the local government council. The Executive Chairman maintained that his administration will not leave any stone unturned in making Okrika Great, and also urged the women to continously put the Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara,  the Government of Rivers State and the Okrika Local Government Council in prayers, and always initiate ideas to the government that will transform not just the women but the entire Okrika Local Government Area.


Sir. Achese Igwe added that, when women are empowered, society is empowered and the family is also empowered and well placed to face the challenges of life. He challenged the women to stand out in the face of intimidation and be proactive in the things that will enhance the welfare of women and society.
