The Executive Chairman, Okrika Local Government Council, Sir. Achese Igwe has charged the honourable councillors of Okrika Local Government Legislative Assembly to always stand for things that are geared towards the betterment of Okrika Nation.
 The Chairman gave the charge in keynote address while addressing Okrika Local Government Legislative in their 3 days workshop on capacity building and on the job training. 
The Executive Chairman reiterated his desire to enhance adequate practice of independence of various arms of government under his watch. Sir. Achese emphasized his administration's desire to bring development to bear in Okrika that will take Okrika to greater heights. 
Buttressing on the theme of the workshop, the council boss said legislation is a serious aspect of democratic governance that involves analysis of policies, debating on critical bills, evaluating executive bills such as
 appropriation budget, and taking up of oversight functions intended at checking government's projects for accountability, transparency and responsiveness in governance. 
Chairman urged the councillors to deliver on their mandate, and that they can only achieve this total dedication to service and will to understand the practices and procedures. 
The workshop, which has its theme as Understanding Legislative Practice and Procedure, was powered by the Okrika Local Government Council.

APPEAL COURT IN PORT HARCOURT ORDERS HON. MARTINS AMAEWHULE AND 24 OTHERS TO APPEAR. The Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt has granted an exparte order of subsistence service on Hon.Martins Amaewhule and 24 purported members occupying the Rivers State House of Assembly. A three man panel of judges led by Hon. Justice Oluayemisi Williams -Dawodu today agreed that Hon. Amaewhule and 24 others be served through subsistence means or WhatsApp.  This was sequel to an application by the counsel to the applicants  Elder Wilcox Abereton SAN who informed the court that it has been difficult and life threatening to serve Hon. Amaewhule and the Rivers State House of Assembly as a result of tight security details around them occasion by the political tension in Rivers State.
