In the lead-up to the highly anticipated October 5th local government polls in Okrika LGA, Rivers State, a historic political shift has emerged as various political parties, including the People's Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party, have united to endorse Dr. Achese Igwe, the candidate of the Action People's Party (APP). 
This unprecedented support comes as a result of Dr. Igwe's impressive track record of development in the region, which has gained the admiration of political stakeholders across party lines. 
The endorsement was officially announced yesterday, 03rd October, 2024 at the A.K.Dikibo Pavilion. Leaders of the respective parties, in separate speeches, highlighted Dr. Igwe’s commitment to the growth and welfare of Okrika.
Speaking on behalf of the PDP, Chief Ibibia O' Walter (Pelebo), emphasized that their decision to back Dr. Achese Igwe was driven by his exceptional leadership and developmental strides, particularly in infrastructure and education. He noted that the PDP had conducted a thorough evaluation of all
 candidates, and Dr. Igwe’s plans stood out as the most feasible and impactful for the people of Okrika. “We are not looking at party affiliations this time; we are focused on what is best for our Okrika, and Dr. Achese Igwe is the right man for the job,” Chief Ibibia stated.
Similarly, Rt. Hon. Gogo Bright Tamuno, Prof Atuboyedia Obianime, Dame Hon. Ibim Semenitari, Rt. Hon. Adams Dabotorudima, Hon. Williams Fialaosika, and others expressed confidence in Dr. Igwe's ability to transform Okrika LGA if elected. 
They commended the APP candidate’s visionary approach to governance and his commitment to improving the standard of living, and youth empowerment. They emphasized that this election should be about the development of Okrika, not party politics, and urged the Labour Party and other members to rally behind Dr. Igwe for the betterment of the local government area.
Other smaller parties, including the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), also voiced their support for Dr. Achese Igwe through their respective leaders, who praised his inclusive development agenda. 
The consensus among the parties is that Okrika needs a leader with a clear vision and a proven record of delivering on promises, and Dr. Igwe has consistently demonstrated these qualities. 
With this widespread endorsement, his candidacy has gained significant momentum as the Igwe/Dinah campaign team draws the curtain for the Saturday 5th RSIEC elections.
The team led by the Chairmanship Candidate went round Okrika as a means of officially rounding up the campaign rallies.
