CHAIRMAN OF OKRIKA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA,
HON. PRINCESS IBIENE OGAN, ON THE OCCASION OF THE

Greetings,
(Iyana-pu ari okerenime!!!)
I stand before you today with immense gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility under
the visionary leadership of our esteemed governor, His Excellency, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Executive Governor of Rivers State.
It is an honour to address this gathering as the newly appointed Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State. I extend my heartfelt thanks to each one of you for
your unwavering support and trust.
I would like to express my profound appreciation to our revered traditional rulers and chiefs for their continuous guidance and wisdom. Your steadfast leadership has always been a cornerstone in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, and I am committed to upholding the traditions and values that you so dearly cherish.
To the women of Okrika L.G.A, I thank you for your strength, resilience, and continuous support. Your contributions to our community are supportive, and as a fellow woman, I am deeply proud to represent you and your voices.
To the youth of Okrika LGA, I am inspired by your energy, creativity, and potentials. You are the future of our community, and I am dedicated to creating opportunities that will allow you to thrive and contribute positively to our dear Local Government Area.
Today, I am excited to introduce my pet project, which is Christened Concerned About Prosperity (CAP). This initiative embodies my commitment to the comprehensive development and prosperity of Okrika.
Here are the key priorities of CAP:
1. Regular Supply of Electricity: We will work tirelessly to ensure that Okrika LGA has a regular and reliable supply of electricity to foster growth and improve the quality of life.
2. Youth Engagement: we will meet with the youth and share in their aspirations. We will hold the first ever youth summit in Okrika LGA.
3. Agriculture: Our youth will be actively engaged in fishing activities into the wider sea to enable them to make more money. We will provide cold storage facilities to support them.
Our farmers will have access to improved varieties, and we will organise agric fair where their harvests can be displayed to enable them to earn money.
4. Women Empowerment and Access to Soft Loans: Empowering women is at the core of our development strategy. We will facilitate access to soft loans, enabling women to thrive in trade and entrepreneurship.
5. Human Capacity Development: Investing in our people is paramount. We will focus on capacity-building programs that enhance skills, knowledge, and opportunities for all.
6. Engagement with the Simplified Movement Family: The Simplified Movement family in Okrika LGA will be actively involved and carried along in our administration as their support is crucial for our success.
7. Prompt Payment of Salaries: We are committed to the timely and consistent payment of salaries, recognizing the hard work and dedication of our local government workers.
8. Cleanliness and Infrastructure: We will prioritize the cleaning of drains and drainages, ensuring a healthier environment.
We will replicate the shining example of Chief Adokie Amiesimaka by building modern toilet and bathing facilities in other locations.
Additionally, we aim for a zero-pothole policy to improve our roads and infrastructure.
9. We will engage our children positively through educational support and other areas of necessity.
In furtherance of achieving all the above and more, I hereby make the following appointments:
1. Gold Okujagu - Secretary to the local government council
2. Supervisor for Health - Toku Obianime
3. Supervisor for Works - Tamunosiki Longjohn

progress, and unity.
