MEDIA REPORT THAT ABAM ROYAL HOUSE/OKRIKA STOPPED OPM'S FREE SCHOOL AND HUMANITARIAN PROGRAMMES IN OKRIKA IS NOT CORRECT.
Omega Power Ministries, OPM decision to stop their Free School and other Humanitarian Services in Okrika, a cause of misinformation and breach in communication between the Resident Pastor and the General Overseer of the Church.
It is important to put the records straight on the impasse between the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries and the Abam Ama Community.
In the meeting were the Chairman, Abam Royal House, Sample Orupabo, Myself, Prince Soala Tobins, Hon. Paul Abam, The representative of the GO from OPM's Headquarters, who serves as the Head of Church Planting, Growth Committee and also serves as the supervisor of Free School and Humanitarian Services, Elder Olokoh, the resident Pastor, Pst. Zubby, Elder Iyeneomi Elymas, Elder Elvis, Elder Lewis Abam, Chairman Abam Ama Land Committee, the landlord, Mr. Joel Tamuno Ayika and Amb Napoleon Jumbo Spiff.
It was discovered that, the community did not stop the project, in course of putting community assets and documentation, the community was informed that, the said parcel of land was sold to the ministery, while the landlord and the Church told the community the land is on lease. The Community said it is against the community norm to sell or lease lands in Abam Ama, hence the Community called on the resident Pastor to clear with the Chairman within 7 days, so that the community and the ministry will have a clear understanding of the status of the parcel of land. The statements both from the Chairman and the resident Pastor didn't state any sort of stopping the Ministry's Programme in Okrika.
We equally spoke with the GO who agreed that all the wrong insinuations placed on Social Media will be PULLED DOWN, then the Leadership of the Community, the Ministry and the Landlord will take a day to reconvene and put things in the right perspective for the smooth running of the programmes.
We also got a copy of the letter written to the Ministry and the response of the GO, which does not bear any stopping of the Ministry's lofty programme in Okrika.
This is to let the General Public know the true position of the OPM's Free School and Humanitarian Programmes in Okrika, that at no time was the programme stopped for any reason. It is a simple itch in communication between the resident Pastor and the GO, and a wrong signal was sent to the public which has in no small measure dented the image of Okrika in the media space. The media report is not correct.
