COMMUNITY REACH OUT:FORMER MILITARY ADMINISTRATOR ENGAGES THE ELDERLY, WIDOWS AND PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES IN SOCIETY.

Community Reachout:Grp. Capt. John Ibiwari Ben-Kalio reach out to Widows, Elderly and People Living with Disabilities in Society. 

The train of reaching out to the needy in society was today anchored at Okrika Ward 3, comprising Oba Polo, Eziwain Polo, Orupabo and Koroni Ogono all in Okrika Local Government Area. 

Speaking at the event the Chairman of the occassion, a one time secretary to Okrika Local Government Area and a Union leader in Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Rivers State, Comrd. Emmanuel G H Fiberesima thanked the donor, former Military Administrator of Yobe State, HE. Grp. Capt. Ben-Kalio for his magnanimity at this time when the need is really necessary in the economic
 situation of the country. The former Labour leader enjoined the beneficiaries to pray for the donor and make judicious use of the items and the cash given to them, he added that times are hard, and if a man out of his many engagements is able to make such donations to better society, there is need for all to be thankful.

Comrd. Fiberesima used the occasion to call on the audience on the need to Getting Out The Voters with a rider, GOTV. You may recall that in a similar occassion the former Milad launched the scheme which was regarded as his pet project to reach out to all eligible voters to be prepared for the task of 2023. To the donor 2023 poses a special dimension to all Nigerians to decide on Good and positive Governance at all levels, stressing that, reaching out early to the voters and sensitising them with the need not to leave politics in the hands of politicians will make the difference in the system.

Other speakers such as Hon. Christian Asifamaka, Hon. Ibinabo Duke Fiberesima, Hon. Mrs. Agnes Atelibo, Hon. Mrs. Gladys all beared their minds on the for public spirited persons to emulate the kindness of the elder statesman by providing for the needy in society to ameliorate the sufferings of people. They all thanked the former Milad on for his philanthropic and selfless service to humanity. 
While thanking the donor on behalf of the beneficiaries, Ms. Beauty Sunday Oba, thanked the former military administrator and expressed sincere and heartfelt gratitude to him for providing for them at this time.

Food items and cash were distributed to the beneficiaries who smiled home with expressions of happiness...##

Government, Traditional Rulers agree to abolish indecent dressing in Okrika.

Sole Administrator, Okrika Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, agree to uphold the abolishing of indecent dressing within the ambit of the law in Okrika and environs. In a meeting conveyed by the Sole Administrator of Okrika Local Government Council, Isodiki Thompson, KSC, on the 14th of August, 2025, in the Council secretariat, the government and all four Traditional Rulers that formed the Okrika Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers has agreed to abolish indecent dressing in Okrika and environs, Ofiomina Watch news has learnt.
