Towards A Greater Okrika.  Beautiful time with the people of Abam Ama on the commissioning of Primary Health facility built by the NDDC. The Executive Chairman, Okrika Local Government Council, expressed happiness over NDDC construction of the Medel Health centre in Abam Ama and the commissioning of the same. He thanked the former MD.CEO of NDDC, Dame Ibim Semenitari, for conceiving such an idea and ensuring its completion. Sir. Igwe emphasized the need for healthy, safe, and hygienic living, thus promised to carry out free medical care programmes for the elderly and pregnant women in the area and the entire Okrika.  In her welcome address, the former MD/CEO of NDDC, Dame Ibim Semenitari, thanked the chairman for his presence and eulogised him for his passion for the development Okrika.  Dame requested the council chairman to help complete the Abam Ama internal roads, which she said needed serious government attention. Towards a Greater Okrika: Okrika Chairman To Engage 200 Youths In Sanitation. Seek collaboration for peaceful co-existence.  ......Seek CDCs collaboration for the safety of government facilities. ...Sues For Peace, and  Cooperation. The Okrika local government council is aimed at engaging 200 youths from the various  communities of the area on sanitation activities to ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment.  The Chairman, Hon Achese Igwe,  stated this at a meeting with Chairmen of Community Development Committees (CDC), said those that will be engaged will be paid monthly stipends to encourage optimum performance.  He noted that they are to ensure the cleaning of gutters and drainages, sweeping of roads, as well as planting of trees to ensure beautification of major roads and Communities. The council boss also disclosed that a sanitation committee to work towards ameliorating the impact of impending flooding in the area would be inaugurated.
